7/12/15 Trip Stories From the Field Part Two

Yesterday, our group changed the life of a lady named Inida by buying her McDonald’s and sitting down with her and just chatting. She was beyong grateful to have the McDonald’s we paid for and it was so beautiful to see that. ~Maddie

My favorite memory was when my group and I walked around Chicago and helped the homeless people. What really touched me was when we met Inida and we bought her McDonald’s. She was a very emotional person and what really put a smile on our group’s faces was when Inida came with us to pray for other homeless people. The mission trip to Chicago was a great trip and I will never forget it. ~Riley

My favorite memory from this trip was getting to play with the Safe Haven kids everyday. VBS right after was super fun too. We got to teach kids about Jesus and how he was resurrected from the dead. ~Zach

I had a great time. I actually sang the worship songs and I never sing. I felt like I got closer to God. I helped the homeless and that touched me a lot. I had a great time here at New Life Pilsen. ~Michael

This was my first mission trip, and I had to step out of my comfort zone by praying for someone in public. I felt very uncomfortable with it, thinking people might think it’s weird for someone to pray for someone else in public. But I did it. ~Drake

Most of the time groups come on a mission trip to bless others, and most of the time groups forget that they leave being blessed themselves. The same is true for Beechwood Youth. ~Karly

It was a privilege to see God at work in our team as they served others in the Chicago community. I loved seeing them encounter Jesus as they join Him in the kingdom work! ~Jesse
