This week has been amazing from the very beginning!!!! The
teams from Arkansas and Canada get along great, and we have all had a blast
doing ministry together. Last night we did something we do every week called a
prayer mosaic. During the prayer mosaic the team’s practice listening prayer,
take communion, wash each other’s feet and pray for the nations. We have been
doing this every week and each week the Holy Spirit falls in powerful ways. I
was in the room where we were praying for the nations and one of teams came in
and shared with me that Wesley a participant had just been saved. It was a
humbling experience for me to watch as Wesley entire youth group was in tears
and rejoicing because their friend and brother in Christ has just accepted
Jesus into his heart. While I was listening to Wesley share his story in
debrief the song by Kari Jobe called the more I seek you was playing in my
heart. It’s amazing to see each week that the More we seek Jesus the more we
find Him. We see him move everyday in Chicago; lives are being changed and
transformed. Michelle looked at me at one point last night and said “It’s all
worth it , leaving our families and jobs and lives behind, because one teenager
got saved, this has all been worth it.” And she’s right. In the end all the
long tiring days, moments of stress and moments of uncertainty have all been
worth it. People are coming to know Jesus here in Chicago and that what this
summer is all about. People encountering the love of the Precious savior
Jesus!!! I am very excited to see what
God has in store for us for the rest of this week and the rest of this summer!!
I know it will be powerful and live changing.
