As we close out our trip, here are some thoughts from our students…
What fears did you overcome during the trip?
Getting out of my comfort zone. Not being in a situation I was used to. Talking to homeless people. I barely ever get to do that, but now I’m comfortable with it. — Joshua
Describe your trip in just a few words…
Moving. Different. Changing. Difficult. It’s like an investigation, but you’re investigating yourself, and you learn new things that you never knew about yourself. — Caleigh
Tell us about two meaningful moments with your crew…
When we shared from our (devotional journals) we had a lot of interesting things come up, like how believing and following are two different things. Even the demons believe that Jesus exists… But following Jesus, that’s work. I also like helping the poor and helping the homeless. I felt like we really connected. — Jimmy
How did your leader impact your trip?
She planned the whole thing and kept it all together and got us here. She sacrificed a lot to help us serve God. She reflected God because she pushed away everything and had the attitude of serving God, and it made me want to do the same. — Avery
Summarize your trip in five words…
Worthwhile. Changes your life too. — Anna
What characteristic of God did you see this week?
When I talked to the seniors and learned all their different personalities… It’s really cool how God makes everyone different. It was really cool to see what they’re like. — Justin
If this trip was a Chicago-style deep dish pizza, what would you call it?
“The pizza of a lifetime!” — Ryan
