It is now the end of the week and the
three teams from Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin have left, but they all did
some awesome ministry this week! For this blog I want to focus more on our AIM
team and how we are becoming a family!
We have all been together for 35 days
straight now without any breaks from each other, but the Lord has given us
supernatural patience and love for each other. I am not saying that because it
is hard for us to get along, but because it is a miracle that 6 totally
different people from different parts of the US would get along so well crammed
in a one bedroom apartment above the church we are working with. The Lord truly
brought us together because he knew our strengths and our weaknesses and that
we all needed one another to make it through this summer.
Today we spent the day in the city! We
took the L train (the above ground subway) downtown, grabbed lunch at Potbelly’s
(amazing subs), took the bus to Navy Pier, and then we rented tandem bikes for
2 hours and rode along the shore line, which was an awesome communicating
exercise because we had to get around crowds of people and communicate to go in
the same direction and pedal at the same time! Tim and Pam rode together, Joel
and Tiffany rode together, and Michelle and I rode together! We rode for about
16 miles and had a great time together as a team.
Tonight we are looking forward to spending
some time with Christy Barnard, one of our awesome Field Supports, and eating
out at Ed Debevic’s and relaxing!
In Him,
