It seemed like our first team from
Delaware was packing up to leave as soon as they arrived, but the evidence of
ministry that they left behind was by no means small. Their hearts for
ministering to the lost and serving others for Jesus Christ was amazing to see
and encouraged me greatly. They were willing to do what was asked of them and
did a great job at doing it. They did a lot of beautifying around the church:
painting walls, cleaning the courtyard, deep cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the
basement, fixing the AC, adding new lights to the basement, construction in the
nursery, putting tar on the roof, and much more. They also ministered to
children out in the parks by handing out free snow cones and bottled water,
playing with them, and making art with sidewalk chalk. Along with that, they
also built intentional relationships and were able to minster to people by
praying for them. The group was very unified and cared about each other very
much.
As we eagerly wait for the three groups
that will be arriving tonight from Kentucky, Illinois, and Wisconsin, our
prayer is that God would be working in their hearts for the ministry he has for
them this week because it could either look a lot like the ministry that the
group did from Delaware, or it can look completely different! I love the
uniqueness of God! Pray that the Lord would lead us this week in the ministry
he has for us, that there would be no conflict, and that we would all have a
heavenly love for each other that only being brothers and sisters in Christ
could bring!
In Christ,
